The Cell Culture Facility (CCF) provides a full range cell culture capability. The CCF supports visiting fellows, students, and intramural and extramural investigators. This basic facility provides the space and equipment necessary for cell culture and cell function analysis activities. Radionuclides and hazardous chemicals may also be used in the facility with appropriate approval. During facility use, specific materials needed for cell cultures (e.g., supply media, culture ware, and chemicals) may be stored on site under the control of the individual investigator.
The CCF consists of two rooms. The smaller room contains a laminar flow hood with natural gas and house vacuum tie-ins, and a double CO2 incubator. The larger room contains a -20 °C freezer, a 4°C refrigerator, a central work bench, and cabinets. Some ancillary items (e.g., waterbaths, pipetting devices, pH meters, balances, and an inverted microscope) are available by arrangement.
